Middle School is tough for both students and parents. It is a transitional time for children educationally, mentally, and physically. For parents, navigating the middle school years can be confusing and overwhelming. That's why we are bringing you the Surviving Middle School Again mini conference. We want to equip you so that you can help your child through these challenging middle school years.

Meet the Speakers

  • Rachel Gunn

    Rachel taught middle school for 10 years. She is a family coach and executive director at Seeds of Impact, a nonprofit serving under-resourced moms.

  • Taylar Posey

    Taylar has been in education for over 15 years as both a teacher and administrator. She is a certified life coach and owner of Forty:Thirty-one Life Coaching, LLC.

  • Erica Wilson

    Erica is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been practicing in the Mental Health field for 10 years. She also just released her first Children’s Book, “I Have Worry Monsters In My Tummy.” Erica specializes in child, adolescent and young adult therapy while providing Educational Classes for Parents. She is the owner and lead therapist of The Olive Branch Counseling Center.

  • Steve Armstrong

    Steve has over 40 years experience in law enforcement, including 12 years with Birmingham Tactical Unit, 7 years as SWAT Training Sergeant and 4 years as Bomb Sergeant. He is the Director of Safety for Alabaster City Schools.
